Part of the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center K12 Physician Scientist Program in Clinical Oncology. The objects of this seminar are:

• Describe how to develop a clinical trials portfolio (examples: Industry-sponsored trials, NCTN/cooperative group studies, and Investigator-initiated trials (e.g., concept, funding, IND, feasibility))   
• Explain the fundamentals of protocol concepts and LOIs  
• Summarize the steps of overseeing multicenter clinical trials (examples, identifying sites and your role as PI, the role of a DSMC and tips for selecting study committee members) 
• Discuss the responsible management of a clinical research team  
• Identify best practices for working effectively with your CRC team 
• Incorporating correlative studies into a trial
