University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

Join Chancellor Sam Hawgood for a conversation with special guest, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Chancellor Hawgood will discuss Speaker Pelosi’s remarkable tenure as the first female Speaker of the House of Representatives, her leadership in the face of a global pandemic, and the role that science and science advocacy play in shaping sound federal policy during this turbulent and uncertain time.

Since the onset of the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S., Speaker Pelosi has been a national leader in confronting the challenges posed by the public health crisis working directly with UCSF and other top academic medical center leaders. Speaker Pelosi led the House of Representatives to take urgent action to protect the lives and livelihoods of the American people by passing roughly $3 trillion in coronavirus financial relief. She continues to fight for sound public health policy and to make additional funds available to the American people in her ongoing negotiations with the Senate and the Trump administration.

Submit a question in advance for Speaker Pelosi. Selected ones will be asked during the Q&A part of the program.

Note: This Zoom event has limited capacity, so please join early to ensure a spot. A recording will also be available afterward.
