  us on December 10th at 4:00 PM for a panel discussion about the documenta
 ry Belly of the Beast. The panel\, moderated by Dr. Jennifer James\, will 
 feature the film’s director\, Erika Cohn\, and stars of the documentary\
 , Kelli Dillon and Courtney Hooks. You can register for the panel discussi
 on here\, and registrants will receive a link to the documentary one week 
 prior to the panel discussion. The suggested donation site for this panel 
 and film screening is California Coalition of Women Prisoners (CCWP).\n\nB
 elly of the Beast follows “an unlikely duo who discover a pattern of ill
 egal sterilizations in women’s prisons and wage a near impossible battle
  against the Department of Corrections. Filmed over seven years with extra
 ordinary access and intimate accounts from currently and formerly incarcer
 ated people\, Belly of the Beast exposes modern-day eugenics and reproduct
 ive injustice in California prisons.”\n\nThis event was planned by a div
 erse group of UCSF staff who organized in response to the ongoing racial i
 njustices. The goal of the UCSF Healthcare Advocates for Social Justice mo
 nthly speaker series is to promote critical thinking and action around int
 ersectional structures of power\, privilege\, and racial oppression in cli
 nical care\, education\, and beyond. We will continue to highlight the eff
 orts of community antiracism activists.
