This is a hands-on event where you can explore archival materials from harm reduction organizations in Northern California—groups that have been on the frontlines of the opioid crisis for decades providing harm reduction education and supplies.

What to Expect

  • Learn how to launch your own community archive
  • Get tips on archiving best practices
  • Connect with peers and share your stories
  • Meet archivists from the UCSF Opioid Industry Documents Archive (OIDA). OIDA is a digital archive of opioid industry documents that promotes transparency and accountability and serves as a trusted source of information that helps people understand the U.S. opioid overdose crisis.
  • Special Guest: Kochina Rude (he/her) is a Chicana drag queen, harm reduction advocate, vocalist, and emcee born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a queer artist, her work blends activism and performance through punk subculture, drag tradition, and public health. Her talk will center around her work in queer nightlife as a critical site for making harm reduction visible and accessible.
