University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

As a tactic of the FY24 True North Learning Health Systems pillar, the Ambulatory Health Equity Workgroup has organized virtual, educational sessions that aim to address Health Equity knowledge gaps for Ambulatory faculty and staff. The sessions will feature various UCSF health equity subject matter experts. Attendees will hear from these leaders on a range of topics including social drivers of health and health disparities, race/ethnicity, gender identity, payor bias, language-based inequity, and more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in discussion with the subject matter experts, as well as one another. The goal of these sessions is to address and improve healthcare equity and cultural sensitivity within our clinics for both the patients and each other.

The next session is scheduled for Friday, February 2nd at 11am with UCSF Chief Audiologist, Becky Lewis and Director of Audiology, Payal Anand. It will focus on hearing equity. Click here to register for the event. If you are unable to attend the session in real time, a recording will be made available after the live event for later viewing.

The previous session featured Professor of Clinical Medicine and Associate Dean for Population Health & Health Equity, Dr. Alicia Fernandez. Click here to watch a recording of this session.

The March session will feature clinical family and community medicine physician, Dr. Emilia Demarchis. She will speak to social drivers of health and health disparities. Please be on the lookout for emails on how to RSVP for this session in the coming weeks.

UCSF welcomes everyone, including people with disabilities to our events and programs. Please contact Lindsay.Williams@ucsf.edu to request any reasonable accomodations you may need in order to attend this event.
