University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

Register in advance for this session

The COVID pandemic has exposed the fault lines of inequity across and within our societies. Speakers from Navajo Nation, India, the United States, Mali, and Mexico will share local advocacy and action in the context of COVID and underlying structural challenges communities face – ranging from research infrastructure, oxygen access, health worker shortages, etc.

How can communities introduce interventions in COVID times to strengthen their broader health systems and advocate for systemic and structural change? Speakers will share a variety of approaches.

All speakers are affiliated with the UCSF HEAL Initiative, the largest and most diverse global health fellowship in the US. Together HEAL has trained and supported the transformation of over 150 health workers across 9 countries and Navajo Nation. Learn more at: www.healinitiative.org
