We invite nurses and allied health professionals to join us as we honor the legacy of Adam Clar, RN by learning about the care of the neuro-oncology patient. On January 16, we will come together for an evening of dinner, and a one-hour lecture focused on the role of molecular tests in diagnosis and well as further prognostication of these tumors will be discussed. In addition, current role of the molecular tests in treatment decisions will be summarized. Finally, future directions in neuropathology and molecular pathology will be discussed.

You will hear from: Melike Pekmezci, MD

Dr. Pekmezci, MD is a board-certified neuropathologist with a clinical and translational research interest in the molecular classification and grading schemes of diffuse gliomas. Dr. Pekmezci has been a member of numerous professional organizations, has authored 150 peer-reviewed papers, and has authored multiple book chapters, including those in the World Health Organization (WHO) Classifications of Central Nervous System. She is a member of the UCSF Brain Tumor Center
