From Instagram to Twitter, social media is where many people find their news, entertainment, and socialize. But just how accessible are each of these social media platforms? How do you navigate them with a disability, and how do you make the content you host on them accessible to others? Come to an informal Lunch & Learn to learn more about making your social media accessible.

Dec 8, 12-1pm How to Write Alt-text

Alt-text (short for Alternative Text) is a key part of making websites accessible to people who are blind or low vision. Without alt-text, these users will not get the same information as sighted users. Join us for this Lunch and Learn to get tips on how to write alt-text for images in your presentations, flyers, and websites.

Feb 16, 12-1pm Accessible PowerPoint Presentations 101

Learn the basics of creating a PowerPoint presentation that is accessible for people with disabilities. This webinar provides an overview of key strategies and recommendations for ensuring that people with disabilities can participate fully in online presentations, meetings, events, and trainings.

April 20, 12-1pm Marketing to the Disability Community

So you’ve scheduled your Zoom webinar. Panelists and presentations are set. Publicity is out and the staff is ready. But where is that elusive audience of people with disabilities? In this Lunch and Learn we will share practical outreach techniques for connecting with the disability community.
