About this Event
513 Parnassus Avenue, San Francisco, California 94143
Please join UCSF Bioethics and the UCSF School of Nursing for an afternoon of panels inspired by themes from the career of Barbara Koenig, PhD, Director Emeritus of UCSF Bioethics.
We'll be joined by UCSF Bioethics faculty and prominent bioethicists from around the country to discuss the intersection of culture and end of life care; genomic science and the cultural construction of race; and methods of engaging and respecting research participants beyond individual consent. We'll end with a fireside chat between Dr. Koenig and Dr. Sandra Soo-Jin Lee, Chief of the Division of Ethics at Columbia University and a UCSF alum, on the future of bioethics scholarship.
Panels and discussion will run from 2:00-5:00pm on January 22nd, 2024 in HSW-303 at the UCSF Parnassus campus. Following the panels, attendees are welcome to join us for a catered reception.
If you would like to join remotely, please register here.
