University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

UCSF Healthcare Advocates for Social Justice invite you to join us on Thursday, October 20th at 12:00 PM for a discussion called “A Bench by the Side of the Road: Beyond Health Equity, Swinging that Arc for Health Justice and Freedom.” The talk will feature Dr. Monique LeSarre, Executive Director of the San Francisco organization, Rafiki Coalition.

Rafiki Coalition’s mission is to eliminate health inequities in San Francisco’s Black and marginalized communities through education, advocacy, and by providing holistic health and wellness services in a culturally affirming environment. They strive to achieve this focus by providing health and wellness services, including but not limited to, health education, movement classes, health screenings, advocacy, transitional housing, and case management services for people living with HIV/AIDS.

You can register for the talk here and learn more about Rafiki Coalition and their work by visiting www.RafikiCoalition.org. This lecture is free to attend but donations to Rafiki Coalition are strongly encouraged.

This event was planned by a diverse group of UCSF staff who organized in response to the ongoing racial injustices. The goal of the UCSF Healthcare Advocates for Social Justice monthly speaker series is to promote critical thinking and action around intersectional structures of power, privilege, and racial oppression in clinical care, education, and beyond. We will continue to highlight the efforts of community antiracism activists.
