 om 8:30 - 11:30 am.\n\nThis event is hosted by Andrew Krystal\, MD\, and f
 eatures keynote speaker Professor Yun-Kwok Wing from the Chinese Universit
 y of Hong Kong\, followed by brief talks from leading UCSF faculty showcas
 ing recent advances in sleep and circadian research. This will be a wonder
 ful opportunity to hear from outstanding speakers\, engage in lively discu
 ssion\, and spark new collaborations within the sleep research community. 
 In-person attendance is strongly encouraged!\n\nYun-Kwok Wing\, MBChB(Hons
 )\, FRCPsych(UK)\, MRCP(UK)\, FHKAM (Psych)\, FHKCPsych\nProfessor Wing is
  the Choh-Ming Li Professor of Psychiatry and Chairman of the Department o
 f Psychiatry\, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also the Directo
 r of the Li Chiu Kong Family Sleep Assessment Unit of The Chinese Universi
 ty of Hong Kong. His research integrates clinical psychiatry\, general med
 icine\, pediatrics\, public health\, neuropsychiatry\, and digital–AI ap
 proaches to better understand sleep-related and mental conditions and thei
 r impact on well-being. He and his team have established comprehensive epi
 demiological data on sleep pattern and disorders in Hong Kong across diffe
 rent age groups. A major focus of his work is insomnia and the prevention 
 of associated mental disorders\, with recent studies targeting on app-base
 d CBT-I to prevent major depressive disorder in youth. His group has also 
 contributed extensively to the understanding of REM sleep behavior disorde
 r\, highlighting familial aggregation\, staging pathology and microbiome d
 ysbiosis relevant to alpha-synucleinopathies.\n\nProfessor Wing is a past 
 President of the Hong Kong Society of Sleep Medicine and a former Vice-Pre
 sident of the Asian Society of Sleep Medicine. Internationally\, he has se
 rved on the scientific and program committees of the World Association of 
 Sleep Medicine and the World Sleep Society (2011–2015\; 2017\; 2019\; 20
 22–2025) and is currently a co-chair of the World Sleep Society Program 
 Committee for 2027. He organized and chaired the Gordon Research Conferenc
 e on Cognitive Dysfunction in Brain Diseases in Hong Kong in 2019. An acco
 mplished grant holder\, Professor Wing has secured 102 competitive grants 
 totalling over HKD 260 million\, including 56 awards in the past five year
 s. He is the project coordinator of a Theme-based Research Scheme award (2
 025/26) from the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong (HKD 76 million) ent
 itled “Sleep and Circadian Rhythm: Potential Window for Prevention of Me
 ntal Disorder in Adolescents\,” which unites local and international exp
 erts to assess\, monitor\, and prevent common mental disorders through an 
 integrated digital platform focused on sleep and circadian health. He has 
 received the Distinguished National Award for Sleep Medicine Scientific Te
 chnological Advance from the Chinese Medical Doctor Association (2010)\, t
 he Award for Distinguished Contributions to the Development of Sleep Medic
 ine and Sleep Research from the Chinese Sleep Research Society (2016)\, an
 d the Teacher of the Year Award from CUHK’s Faculty of Medicine.\n\nBrea
