Title: Finding Success in Academia: An Adventurer’s Guide

Educational Objectives:

• Recognize the various overall strategies that may or may not lead to academic success
• Review a few selected advances made in our understanding of epilepsy
• List at least three lessons on academic success derived from the n-of-one experience of a fellow (senior) colleague

The Robert B. Aird Visiting Professorship was established in the Department of Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco in 1972 and named in honor of Dr. Robert B. Aird, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurology from 1947-1966.
