DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an artist talk with Mojdeh Rezaeipour about
Classroom Solidarities\, an analog reinterpretation of digital images and
videos created by women and young people in classrooms across Iran. First
 shared via social media during the 2022 Jin\, Jiyan\, Azadi (Woman\, Life\
, Freedom) movement\, Rezaeipour’s materials reflect personal and collec
tive expressions related to bodily autonomy and basic freedoms under condi
tions of severe repression.\n\nSituated within broader global conversation
s about student expression and the role of educational spaces\, Classroom
Solidarities invites viewers to consider how classrooms can function both
as sites of limitation and as spaces for reflection\, dialogue\, and creat
ive transformation.\n\nRezaeipour’s artist talk will be followed by a sc
reening of stop motion material from the project. Considering this materia
l\, participants will be invited to independently engage with several ques
tions and prompts from the artist.\n\nThis event is open to the entire UCS
F community\, but an RSVP is required.\n\n-----------\n\nMojdeh Rezaeipour
is an Iranian-born transdisciplinary artist and storyteller. Incorporatin
g analog collage methodologies across various mediums\, Rezaeipour’s pra
ctice activates personal and collective archives through iterative long-te
rm projects\, collaborative research\, and pedagogical engagement. Rezaeip
our has collaborated with multiple academic institutions\, including UCLA\
, University of Maryland\, and Northwestern\, to bring the Classroom Solid
arities conversation to their communities.\n\n-----------\n\nThe UCSF Depa
rtment of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences welcomes all participants to
our events. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this
event because of a disability\, please contact Anna Ardieta at anna.ardiet
a@ucsf.edu as soon as possible.\n\nPlease note: This is an in-person event
