Prenatal Mindfulness Intervention Leads to Lower Child Psychopathology, Mediated by Reductions in Perinatal Maternal Depression

Learning objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe two perinatal time periods when maternal depression may impact child mental health
  • Explain how reductions in perinatal maternal depression mediate the effects of prenatal psychosocial interventions on child psychopathology
  • Discuss at least one clinical or public health implication of integrating perinatal mental health interventions into prenatal care
