Homelessness Among the Mentally Ill: Why We Are Failing to Solve the Problem, and What Needs to Be Done?

Learning objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe five subjective and objective experiences of people who are homeless and mentally ill
  • List five immediate causes of homelessness among mentally ill people and describe five deep structural causes, all of which help explain why this problem has not been solved
  • List potential solutions, both immedate and structural, that would ameliorate the problem of homelessness among the mentally ill
