Our Patients Can Handle Reality: The Misuse of Insight to Justify Medication Treatment

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

Identify and challenge the implicit assumptions that drive medication use in behavioral syndromes
Explore the concept of insight and how it is used in clinical and legal settings
Take a “pro-mathematics” stance to re-evaluate our assumptions around patient choice and the role of medication
