2019 Byers Award Lecture in Basic Science

The Program for Breakthrough Biomedical Research invites you to the 2019 Byers Award Lecture in Basic Science featuring Hana El-Samad, PhD, Professor, Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, UCSF School of Medicine. The lecture will be followed by a community reception featuring interactive research exhibits.

UCSF Chancellor Sam Hawgood, MBBS, and Brook Byers, founding member and partner of Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers, will give opening and closing remarks.

About the Byers Award: The Byers Award is administered through the Program in Breakthrough Biomedical Research (PBBR). Following a competitive call for nominations, the award is given to a mid-career faculty member for an innovative research project. The recipient is asked to present their research at the annual Byers Award Lecture.
