------

Dr. Christine Gould received her PhD from West Virginia University in 2011 and completed an advanced fellowship in geriatrics through the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC) at VA Palo Alto. She is a board-certified geropsychologist and core Investigator at GRECC. She also holds an affiliated appointment as an Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Dr. Gould’s research program focuses on developing and refining technology-delivered interventions for older adults with mental health problems. She has developed a 4-week video-delivered relaxation intervention for older adults that targets anxiety symptoms and activity engagement, which has been tested in several funded studies. She also has examined a mobile app-based program for depression in middle aged and older adults. Furthermore, to address the gap knowledge of and comfort with mobile apps for many older adults, she and her team developed and are disseminating a series of education materials about using smartphones and about how to use three VA mobile apps for mental health.
