BCHO Grand Rounds: Firearm Violence and Policy Evidence

Objectives:

  • Identify demographic groups at highest risk of firearm homicide and suicide
  • Identify the demographics of gun owners most likely to keep a loaded, unlocked firearm and the risk for children exposed to these unsecured firearms
  • Explain how policies aimed to prevent firearm violence are evaluated
  • Describe how to talk to parents about gun safety in the home, and how to ask about gun storage at the home of friends or relatives
