There are an estimated 54 million Latinxs* in the United States, comprising over 17% of the population. California is the state with the largest Latinx population with an estimated 15 million. By 2060, the Census Bureau projects that Latinxs will comprise over 28% of the total population with 119 million residing in the United States. Join this interactive lunch conversation as we discuss Latinidad (the sense of a shared cultural commonality, destiny, and unity among people of Latinx or Hispanic descent) and hold space for the UCSF to have a conversation about intersectionality and identity.
This event is co-sponsored by the LGBT Resource Center, Multicultural Resource Center & Chicanx Latinx Campus Association.
*Latinx is the gender-inclusive alternative to Latino, Latina and even Latin@.
