PhD students and postdocs: Need help writing your resume or CV for non-academic employment? Come and craft your document at the next OCPD CV/Resume Workshop for PhDs.
Join us for an interactive workshop that will teach you how to draft your document in a way that clearly shows why you're a top candidate. Attendees will also have opportunities to participate in activities that will help them critique and compose a better resume or CV. If you are a person looking at the clinical/regulatory sector, this is the workshop for you as we will be emphasizing specific strategies to help your resume get noticed by clinical/regulatory hiring managers.
Please Note: This session is for UCSF PhD students and postdoctoral scholars applying for non-faculty careers only. It is offered approximately every six weeks. Those preparing faculty documents should attend the PAC-UP workshops. To learn more, visit career.ucsf.edu/academic-careers
By the end of this workshop you will be able to:
Explain the difference between a CV and resume, what you’ll be writing and why
Follow the three steps to organize and write a resume or CV like a career counselor
Organize, format and frame your document to better target opportunities specific to you
Patti Meyer, Program Director, Non-academic Career Development
Please bring a draft of your document to this event, and a laptop, if you have either. Don't have a copy of your CV? Come anyway!
