Digital Accessibility Awareness and Introduction to Diversity and Inclusion

Digital Accessibility Awareness

(11:30-12:00PM)

UCSF’s IT department is sponsoring a free Digital Accessibility demonstration to celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day.

Too much of our digital environment, here at UCSF, fall short of accessibility for all. A few simple steps, implemented early, can change this. Experience how a blind user “reads” visual digital content. Marc Sutton will demonstrate using a screen reader and share what makes a good user experience and what are barriers.

Presenter: Marc Sutton

Introduction to Diversity and Inclusion

(12:00-1:00PM)

This Office of Diversity and Outreach training series will strengthen your understanding around foundations of diversity. We will review concepts of bias and micro aggressions, and present Cultural Humility as a framework to support equity and inclusion.

Bring your lunch and learn! After the presentation there will be time for Q&A.

Presenter: Don Woodson

Great to experience a screen-reader user demo first hand.
