Developing Habits that Contribute to Faculty Wellness: Cultivating Resilience

Faculty are experiencing high levels of stress and burnout. While a variety of programs are proposed to help with faculty resilience, faculty need tools that they can use in the context of everyday work, and also with their learners.

At the end of this session, participants will:

  • Identify strategies that they can use in the workplace to cope with stress and burnout.
  • Describe the relationship between long term habits and use of these strategies.
  • Recognize habits that would be valuable to suggest to learners.

Anand Dhruva, MD and Joe Cook, MA of the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine will lead this session. Attendees will get to practice different strategies to consider what works well for them, as well as discuss how to bring up wellness strategies with their students.
