State of the University 2016: Invested in Our Community

Chancellor Sam Hawgood, MBBS, will share highlights of UCSF’s new economic impact report and major accomplishments over the past year during his third State of the University Address. The theme for the talk is “Invested in Our Community.”

The campus community is invited to attend the address in Cole Hall Auditorium on the UCSF Parnassus campus. The speech also will be streamed live on the web at https://www.ucsf.edu/state-university-address.

Lunch will be served immediately following the address near the Nobel Prize wall in the Medical Sciences Building. The first 150 people to arrive to Cole Hall Auditorium will receive a free UCSF souvenir T-shirt depicting the historic 30th annual San Francisco AIDS Walk as well as other giveaways.

Hawgood will talk about specific examples of how UCSF is working with the community in each of his four priority areas: equity/inclusion, transformative partnerships, education and learning and precision medicine.

The Chancellor will also take questions at the end of his presentation. Members of the community can join the conversation and ask questions by using the hash tag #UCSFSOTU on Twitter or by commenting on the YouTube live stream.
