qed@qb3-UCSF: Angel Investment in High-Tech

Mission Bay

12:00 PM- 1:00 PM

  • Thursday, July 2, 2009
Description:

What is angel investing?  How do angel groups work, and what do they invest in?  How do they invest and how to get in front of an angel/angel group?  What are the advantages of angel investment in contrast to friends/family and VC investing?  Daniel Joensen has been working high tech startups for over 20 years as a founding, investor and senior executive.  Daniel helped create early local area network and groupware applications for financial institutions in the ‘80s and has been involved with technology-based early stage companies since.  He has a keen understanding of resource allocation, optimization, finance and the value of customers and how this applies to the process of starting and growing a technology-based company.  He is a member of the Band of Angels’ Screening Committee and a member of the Sand Hill Angels.  He has been a panelist or speaker at angel, entrepreneurship and venture capital events.
