Skin Deep:  A look at toxic chemicals in cosmetics and body care products

Mount Zion

5:00 PM- 7:00 PM

  • Thursday, August 27, 2009
Description:

With Genevieve Roja, Breast Cancer Fund.  Did you know that one third of personal care products contain at least one chemical linked to cancer? Every day we use multiple personal care products—from shampoo, to deodorant and makeup—containing chemical ingredients that are absorbed through the skin, inhaled or ingested. Some chemicals in these products are linked to cancer, birth defects and infertility—and most have never been evaluated for health and safety at all.

Find out what you can do, what ingredients to avoid and how to choose safer alternatives for your every day products.  Bring in your favorite product with an ingredient label.

Light refreshments provided. No charge. Co-sponsored by the Breast Cancer Fund.
